Honoring the mystery by holding the light with darkness, creation happens and a new optical sculpture awakes to play with us. A number of finishes were combined to create an aged look of antiquity in a sharp contrast with the rich luster of the exotic wood and highly polished metals. The openness of the filigree metal parts with cosmic elements gives life to a fantasy creature.
Flashes of light, mystery, wisdom, and creation combined with the dark and dangerous, excites a paradoxical spirit. As one steps up to the vigor of the fantasy sculpture and participates in the source of the expression, an adventure unfolds of fantasy and unexpected events.
Sense of mystery, fantasy
An important part of my design process is to create a sense of mystery that invites a bystander to participate in the experience of the sculpture. To help create this intrigue, I’ve combined a number of finishes to create an aged look of antiquity in sharp contrast with the rich luster of the exotic wood and highly polished metals. The openness of the filigree metal parts with cosmic elements gives the sculpture a fantasy creature aspect combined with a mechanical sense.
